Hello
The funeral for our beloved Al will be held on Wednesday, December 1st at 2.00 pm. For COVID safety we suggest that people take a lateral flow test on the day of the funeral.
Where?
The funeral itself is to be held in the orchard at Stanmer village, Stanmer Park, opposite the tea rooms. The wake will follow at Stanmer House. We respectfully ask people to wear masks when queuing for food and drinks at the wake.
Is there a dress code?
Definitely! Al wants us all to wear something colourful, or, for the shy ones, a dash of colour somewhere about your person will be just as welcome.
Further information.
Because the funeral is outside in the orchard we recommend wearing shoes fit for uneven and possibly muddy ground, and warm clothing. It might be an idea to bring an umbrella and/or raincoat if you have one. Also, if you wish, bring a blanket for sitting on the ground (assuming no mud!) or a seat to sit on. We expect the ceremony to last about an hour.
Further, further information.
Please bring a coloured felt tip pen. All will become clear on the day.
Going global.
Al’s funeral is also going to be live-streamed for those friends who can’t make it in person. Which is perfect because it’s Al, what did we expect? She has friends everywhere.

Getting to Stanmer Park
If at all possible please use public transport or your own steam, walk or cycle.
Train
The nearest train station is Falmer, followed by a ten minute walk to the park entrance.
Bus
The number 25 stops at the park entrance. There isn’t a bus into the village on weekdays.
Please allow half an hour to walk from the park entrance to Stanmer village.
Driving
If you are driving maybe car share? Please be aware that there is NO free parking. All parking is chargeable using the PaybyPark app in all car parks, or by card but only in two of the car parks (helpful!). Parking anywhere outside car parks will probably get you a ticket.
We’re really looking forward to seeing you there.
Please donate to Al's chosen charity on her much loved tribute page.
